3.8 Earthquake Strikes Near Marina del Rey

Did you feel the shaking?

A short quake rattled the Los Angeles area early Wednesday.

The temblor, which had a preliminary magnitude of 3.8, struck at 3:18 a.m. July 25, at a depth of 5.6 miles. Its epicenter was just two miles east-southeast of Marina del Rey. A computer-generated USGS report had the magnitude at 3.7. 

The magnitude remained 3.7 after a seismologist reviewed the data, according to the USGS report.

There were no immediate reports of damages in the Cerritos-Artesia area.
