Cerritos Kids Fishing Derby to be Held at Cerritos Regional Park on June 1

Young anglers get ready because the annual Cerritos Kids Fishing Derby is coming to town this weekend!

On Saturday, June 1, the popular fishing derby will be held at Cerritos Regional Park, located at 19800 Bloomfield Ave, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The event begins at 7 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast followed by the fishing derby from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Children ages 5 to 15 years old can participate in free fishing and angler safety lessons sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game. Each child will receive a free T-shirt and be eligible to compete for prizes in various categories.

The annual event is sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, along with the City of Cerritos, Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Cerritos Rod and Gun Club.
