VIDEO: Cerritos Library Video Wins National Award

A video highlighting the city's beautiful, titanium-clad facility recently earned top honors from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.

The City of Cerritos was recently presented with a first place award from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) for a video highlighting the award-winning .

The program, “Cerritos Library: Experience America's Best Public Library,” received first place for the Government Programming  Award in the Library Video category. The Government Programming Awards recognize excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies.

“The City of Cerritos is proud to be the home of America's best public library, and it is an honor to receive such a prestigious award for the Library video produced by City staff,” said Cerritos Mayor Carol K. Chen.

(The video can be viewed above, or on the city's YouTube channel at youtube.com/CityofCerritos. It also airs on Cerritos TV3, the City's government access cable television channel.)

The video begins with a visual tour through the Library and highlights some of the facility's most popular features, including Stan, an authentic Tyrannosaurus-rex replica; the “Old World” reading room; the 200 computer workstations; and the 3,200-square-foot Skyline Room and terrace. The video also highlights the Library's classes, special events and world-class collection of artwork.

The Cerritos Library, located at 18025 Bloomfield Ave. in Cerritos, is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Library offers a full-service Reference/Information Desks in both Adult Services and Children's Services, staffed with friendly librarians ready to help you with your information needs.

NATOA is a non-profit professional organization serving local governments and regional authorities in the development, regulation and administration of cable franchises and other telecommunications systems.
