Disneyland Plans to Surprise Visitors in 2013

The list of weeklong events includes a return of the Golden Horseshoe Review, spotlights on lesser-known Disney characters, a villain dance party and limited-edition souvenirs.

Disneyland is planning a weekly series of special experiences and surprises for 2013, according to park officials.

"Limited Time Magic" will consist of "52 weeks of magical experiences big and small that appear, then disappear as the next special surprise debuts," Disney officials announced Thursday at a ceremony in Times Square in New York City.

The list of experiences will include:

-- Valentine's Week, a celebration of romance and enchantment that will include Disney princes and princesses meeting guests in special settings, prix fixe menus at select restaurants and Valentine collectibles

-- Independence Week with various limited-edition souvenirs

-- Lost Friends Week, where lesser-known Disney characters will pose for pictures with park guests, who will also be able to vote online for which characters they want to see

-- Dapper Dans Sing Boy Bands, in which the Main Street U.S.A. quartet will add a special finale to its show, delivering a medley of hits from One Direction, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys;

-- A Friday the 13th dance party hosted by such Disney villains as Maleficent, Captain Hook and Jafar on Sept. 13, when Disneyland will remain open until the "13th Hour" (1 a.m.)

-- the monthlong return of the Golden Horseshoe Revue, the show presented at Frontierland's Golden Horseshoe Saloon from the park's opening on July 17, 1955, to Oct. 12, 1986.
