Fresh Seafood at the Cerritos Farmers Market

Impress your dinner guests this holiday season with the freshest selection of seafood from the J&P West Coast Seafood stand at the Cerritos Farmers Market.

Just like how not all people are alike, the same goes for all fish--as Pete Siracusa at J&P West Coast Seafood stand at the would confidently say.

“Quality is the main thing, and we always look for quality fish,” says Siracusa.  “Our fish has only a one-day yield before we sell it to the customer, and there is a big difference in taste, texture and odor.”

All the fish is filleted within 24 hours to ensure that it retains its moisture, which helps it cook and taste its best. A wide variety of fresh seafood is available at the stand, including Mahi Mahi, Wild King Salmon, clams, mussels, seabass, snapper, branzino and more.

The J&P stand embodies the beauty of farmers markets—being able to get fresh, quality food from people who know the food and care to give customers the best selection.  You can easily get great recipes and tips on cooking seafood from Siracusa and his friend of 24 years, Carrie Hoshide, who works alongside him at the stand.

Though Siracusa has been in the business for over 30 years, he admits that as a youngster he hated fishing. He would help his father work at various farmers markets but never thought he’d get involved with the business.  But one thing he did find joy in from the many years working alongside his dad was the opportunity to interact with various customers on a regular basis.
