Los Cerritos Center to Host Goodwill Donation & Document Shredding Event on Saturday

Drop off your gently used clothing and accessories at the Goodwill's community collection event on Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Los Cerritos Center parking lot.

Start the season of giving this weekend by cleaning out your closets and dropping off any gently used clothing and accessories at the Goodwill community collection event at the . 

This special collection will take place in the parking lot south of (at the corner of Gridley Road and South Street) on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

How do you know which items to donate? When you are cleaning out your closet, ask yourself, "Would I give this to a friend?" If yes, then Goodwill could put it to good use in one of their stores.

Clothing & Accessories:
All Seasons: Men's, Women's, Children's, Infants, Shoes, Handbags, Accessories

Housewares:
Cookware, Dishes, Silverware, Glassware, Pictures, Luggage

Small Appliances:
Radios, Stereo Systems, Lamps, Fans, Coffee Pots

Household Textiles:
Sheets, Pillowcases, Blankets, Comforters, Towels Items

What Items Are Not Accepted?

The Goodwill is unable to collect fluorescent tubes, batteries, or household hazardous waste, microwaves or scanners. Industrial and large-scale e-waste will also not be accepted.

Need to Shred Some Old Documents Safely?

The Goodwill event also includes an opportunity for you to get rid of any old papers or documents through Shred-4-Good, which will be offering secure documentation destruction services. Individuals can shred their first three boxes of documents for FREE, and a $5 charge will be incurred for each additional box. (*standard banker's box size approximately 9.5" deep, 11.5" wide, and 17.5" long)

Donations are Tax Deductible

Donations made during this event are tax deductible. Any revenues generated from donations will help fund Goodwill's skills training, education and job placement programs for individuals with barriers to employment which help them achieve economic and personal independence.
