A bizarre stabbing in a normally quiet Cerritos neighborhood captured the intrigue of Patch readers locally as well as nationally in 2011. An Aug. 15 argument between two transients at a Cerritos home on Vickie Avenue near  left one man hospitalized with a stab wound to his lower back, and residents nearby were shocked when they saw the bloody trail left behind in front of the two-story corner home. 

The city of Cerritos boasts one of the county's lowest violent crime rates, so this attack drew the attention of many of our readers. More than 75,000 people watched this breaking news video within the first 24 hours of it being published and tens of thousands more followed the story until the .
