Pet Personals: Countywide Adopt-A-Thon Today

Thousands of homeless pets throughout Los Angeles County are gearing up for the L.A. Adopt-A-Thon.

The June 18 Adopt-A-Thon

The Found Animals Foundation is teaming up with 16 Los Angeles Animal Care Centers to host their biggest adoption event to date. The one-day Adopt-A-Thon is schedule for Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festivities include significantly reduced adoption prices on all cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies. Every animal adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated with all major age-appropriate shots.

Cat Days of Summer

The Adopt-A-Thon is just one part of Found Animals' Cat Days of Summer promotion.

Unbeknownst to many, the summer months are also known as "kitten season" at the animal shelter. Each year, animal care facilities are inundated with thousands of homeless kittens and cats.

Found Animals' Cat Days of Summer is a multifaceted initiative that aims to help 6,000 cats and kittens through adoption and spay/neuter programs. 

“We are so excited to launch an innovative and comprehensive summer campaign to benefit kittens and cats," said Aimee Gilbreath, Executive Director of Found Animals. 

"Not only are we committed to placing thousands of adoptable kittens, cats, and other companion animals in loving homes, and facilitating thousands of spay and neuter surgeries, but also to bring much needed awareness to the sad plight of homeless cats in our community.”
