WCAC Celebrate Sharing & Giving at December Meeting

The month of December is known for sharing and giving and that is what the members of Woman's Club of Artesia Cerritos did at their recent meeting.

As we gathered at Cerritos Park East for our December meeting, so did our many guests from organizations in the greater Cerritos-Artesia area. This year we decided to invite a few new groups from whom we heard what they do in the community and what we as members can do to help them.

Guests included: Christina Kreachbaum from Su Casa, Juan Aceves from Community Family Guidance, Katie Placido from Tracy High School Teen Parent Program, Meg Fisch from Pathways, and Terri Villa-McDowell and Mark Anthony Ruiz from ABCUSD Educational Foundation. Each shared their heartwarming stories.

As in years past we collected toys for Su Casa and craft supplies for Community Family Guidance. We also gave a cash donation to each of the groups. The toys were put in a nice display on the stage by the granddaughters of President Judy McNatt.

We are also a very crafty group of ladies and recently participated in the City of Cerritos Holiday Boutique and continued with our sales of craft items at the meeting. As seen in the pictures, some of our members are Esther Pulido, our fundraising chairman Judite Mendes, and two of our crafty ladies Irene Lowenberg and Marilyn McGorman. The $1,300.00 in proceeds will go to help support our charities.

All in all it was a festive meeting, an enlightening meeting to know that we as members of this organization can help those in need.

The members of the Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos want to take the opportunity to invite women to come to our meetings and also to wish the community a very Happy Holiday season.
