The city of Cerritos has to assess what types of businesses and services are lacking in Cerritos and aggressively seek out companies to occupy the many empty commercial buildings and shops throughout the city. The city has a great deal of valuable commercial space that has sat empty for years and is located on major streets on prime commercial property. The City Council and the Development Department are too passive. They should be actively seeking out companies and bringing in commercial businesses and services that are needed by Cerritos residents.
