Does an evening of good food amid a beautiful outdoor setting sound like fun? The Friends of the Artesia Library think it does and are sponsoring a Garden Party Library Benefit for the Artesia Library.  The Friends work all year to raise money for the library to buy best sellers, children’s books, to sponsor performers for the Summer Reading Program, and to help out wherever they can.

Help the Friends help the library and join us on Friday May 4th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Andy’s Garden at 11504 178th Street in Artesia.  There will be a selection of cuisines from restaurants in Artesia and Cerritos, wine tasting, entertainment, a silent auction, prizes, and much more.

Tickets may be purchased for $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under at the Artesia Library at 18722 Clarkdale, (562) 865-6614, or contact Michele Diaz at mdiaz2000@earthlink.net or (562) 402-9893 or Joanne Witt at (562) 860-2036 for tickets and information.

If you would like to be a sponsor or have something to donate to the evening, please contact Sally Flowers at zunigaflowers@yahoo.com.

When it comes to the FREE newspaper (or anything else that's free) -- the old saying applies: YouRead More get what you pay for.

To call this "rag" a newspaper is a joke. They only put partial truths, always sided to aRead More covert friend of the writer and never have done the background investigation to be able to establish validity!
