Why Go: The local Soroptimists host this Casablanca-themed fundraiser which benefits multiple good causes. The night will feature a Turnip Rose dinner, casino style gaming, some really incredible prizes and a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. Please for contact details

Why Go: This Latin guitar and string quartet concert features Grammy-nominated musicians and promises to deliver a lively set.

Where/When: 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 27 at La Traviata, 301 Cedar Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802

Why Go: Oscar fans will be greeted with a glass of champagne at the door and receive two more drink tickets for the evening. Guests can enjoy cocktails in a private dining room with several plasma screens and a giant 15-foot projection screen all showing the Oscars. Attendees can vote for their favorites and a chance to win prizes. Dinner includes lobster tortelli, gourmet salad, choice of filet mignon or sea bass and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert.

Why Go: Cheer on racers, or maybe race yourself, at this multi-race event that features a junior reverse triathalon, 10K in line skate and more. All proceed benefit good causes.
