Cerritos Burglary Suspects Crash Into Commuter Bus in Bellflower

A car being pursued by sheriff's deputies due to possible involvement in a Cerritos burglary crashed into a commuter bus in Bellflower today.

The pursuit began when deputies spotted the car in Cerritos and gave chase about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Diane Hect of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

She said the pursuit continued onto the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway. The driver then exited the freeway at Studebaker Road in Bellflower, and the crash took place at Artesia Boulevard and Canehill Avenue, Hecht said.

One person was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries and more than one person was taken into custody, she said.

The details of the alleged burglary were not immediately released.
