Cerritos PetSmart Opens Its Doors, Community Grand Opening Set for Saturday

The city welcomes the newest specialty retailer of services and solutions for pets at Cerritos Towne Center.

The new Cerritos PetSmart officially opened its doors Monday with the help of local officials and business leaders -- a precursor to the retailer's plans for a community celebration this Saturday, which will feature trick training classes and giveaways of products, gift cards and pet services such as grooming and training classes.

Mayor Pro Tem Bruce Barrows alongside councilmembers Mark Pulido and Carol Chen, and president Linda Frisbey attended the Aug. 6 ribbon cutting ceremony, officially welcoming the specialty retailer to its new home at the Cerritos Towne Center.

After the ceremony, attendees got the chance to tour the store, which sells food, supplies and accessories for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and small pets. Aside from its products, PetSmart also provides pet boarding, pet grooming and pet training amenities. Through a partnership with local adoption agencies, dogs and cats available for adoption will also be displayed inside the store.

Though the store is now open for business, an official community Grand Opening will be held on Saturday, August 11, starting at 9 a.m. Part of the daylong festivities will include an appearance by Bentley, the dog with the longest tail according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Attendees can meet the world famous dog and take pictures with him.

For more information about the new specialty retailer for pets and/or the Aug. 11 event, call the store directly at (562) 263-2414. PetSmart is located at , 12741 Towne Center Drive, Suite K-2 and is open Mon-Sat, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sun 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

I've noticed that a lot of people take jobs in food service while they pursue long-term jobs thatRead More match their field of study. If they do, they need to be certified in food safety. They can learn about this at http://www.SafeFoodAcademy.com.
