New Kaiser Medical Office Brings More Business to Cerritos

Mayor Bruce Barrows says the 50,000 square-foot structure will bring convenience and environmental awareness to Kaiser members.

With business continuing to flourish, Cerritos will soon be home to a Kaiser Permanente medical office. The city currently has a three percent vacancy rate, said Mayor Bruce Barrows.

“It’s a first class company with a first class reputation,” Barrows said. “We’re pleased to have good quality tenants bringing in medical services to residents and the surrounding area.”

The 50,000 square-foot, full service medical office will offer laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services with an underground parking structure. More than 30 providers including primary care, pediatrics and OB/GYN services will bring more jobs to the city.

Kaiser Senior Public Affairs Representative Lana Peterson said plans are on track for opening mid-spring, but an exact opening date has not been set.

Located at 10820 183rd St., the structure’s environmentally friendly features aim to promote the well-being of the community. Large windows will capture natural light, recycled materials will be used and drought tolerant landscaping outside of the building will conserve water. As part of the city’s art work in public places program, a large sculpture by artist Gerard Basil Stripling will adorn the building’s exterior, said city spokesperson Annie Hylton.

Because of its central location, Hylton says the city is ideal for businesses. The office will benefit members who currently visit nearby facilities in Bellflower, La Palma and Norwalk.
