SoCal Gasoline Prices Fall

It's your price at the pump heading into the weekend of Sept. 21-23; use our handy Patch tool to find your lowest gas prices in the neighborhood.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell three-tenths of a cent today to $4.154, one day after rising six-tenths of a cent.

The average price is 1.1 cents less than one week ago, but 3.7 cents more than one month ago and 21.5 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price fell a half-cent today to $4.124, one day after a nine-day streak of decreases ended with an increase of 1.1 cents.

The Orange County average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago, but 2.8 cents more than one month ago and 21.2 cents higher than one year ago.

"The price of oil has been so volatile in recent weeks that it's hard to say where gas prices are headed in the coming days," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
