Southland Gasoline Prices Continue to Fall

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County declined today for the eighth time in nine days, dropping a half-cent to $4.353.

The average price is 2.5 cents less than a week ago and four-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but 30 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price fell today for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.331, 2.7 cents less than a week ago
and 1.8 cents lower than one month ago but 29.1 cents higher than one year ago.

"Despite a large drop in wholesale prices earlier this month, so far we haven't seen a corresponding big decline at the pump,'' said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
