Wells Fargo Bank in Artesia Closes, Merges with Cerritos Location

The closure was effective on Sept. 28 -- all accounts opened at the Artesia location will automatically be moved to the Cerritos banking location.

Wells Fargo Bank at the corner of Pioneer Boulevard and 183rd Street permanently shut it doors last week, carrying out plans to consolidate with Wells Fargo bank in Cerritos.

The banking facility at 18300 Pioneer Boulevard first notified customers of its plans to close down in a July letter.

"Our Artesia store will close permanently at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012. The ATM will remain in service after the store closes," the letter reads. "Serving you remains our top priority as we complete this transition, and we'll do everything we can to make it as easy as possible for you."

According to Wells Fargo, any accounts opened at the Artesia store will automatically be transferred to the Cerritos store, located at 13355 South St.

The Cerritos location is open Mon. to Fri. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sat. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The facility has four ATMs and offers safe deposit boxes, as well as night drop and merchant teller, according to Wells Fargo.

Other nearby Wells Fargo banking locations include:

  • Inside Stater Brothers in Artesia -- 11815 Artesia Blvd. (at Artesia and Pioneer boulevards)
  • Los Cerritos Center -- 18712 Gridley Road

A "For Lease" sign has already been placed on the building -- interested parties should call (562) 809-5652 for more information.

Not terribly surprising. They have/had branches at Pioneer/183rd, Gridley/187th, and Gridley/South. If the South/Gridley location is still open, then I suspect it may be the last branch standing as it has better parking and visibility than the 187th location. This opinion is worth what you paid for it :-)
