ABC’s INTO THE SUMMER FUN RUN READIES FOR LAUNCH

The ABC Education Foundation has announced that its Early Bird Sponsor Drive for the ABC Into the Summer Fun Run 2014 has already reached 40% of its 2014 goal, thanks to early sponsor pledges and sponsor grants.   Deadline to receive all marketing benefits for Fun Run sponsors is May 23, 2014.

 

 "Every dollar raised by the Fun Run is a dollar for our children," stated Cindy Yen Chen, President of the Foundation.  "These early Sponsors are key to ensuring the Foundation’s goal to provide the financial resources needed to ensure every ABC student succeeds."

Early Bird Sponsors that have already committed to support the ABC Education Foundation Fun Run 2014 include two Gold Sponsors:

  • State Farm Insurance, which provided a grant for pedestrian safety and texting safety workshops, flyers, banners and educational materials to be distributed at the Fun Run Wellness Fair;
  • Kaiser Permanente Downey, which will also provide the Fun Run First Aid Tent and goody bags, and,
  • Los Cerritos Center which is providing the location and staff support for Fun Run 2014. 

 

The Fun Run’s first Silver Sponsor is LBS Financial Credit Union.   

 

Early bird Friends of the ABC Education Foundation sponsors include:

  • L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe;
  • California Educational Centers;  
  • ABC Federation of Teachers;  
  • ABC Foundation President Cindy Yen Chen; and
  • Former CA State Assemblymember Tony & Leticia Mendoza. 

 

Early Community Sponsors include:

  • ABC Board Member Olympia Chen;
  • ABC Education Foundation Board Chair Sal Flores;
  • Cerritos law firm Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo; 
  • LaPalma Intercommunity Hospitals;
  • Century 21 ASTRO; and

A Wellness Fair will provide free health, physical and dental screenings, wellness information and fun activities, including a stage featuring The School Tour, young entertainers touting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and anti-bullying strategies.

 

Wellness fair vendors signed so far include:

  • Dr Thuy Pham, Optometry, Artesia;
  • California Educational Centers ;
  • L.A. County Public Health Department;
  • Tri-City Regional Medical Center; and
  • Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.

 

“Our participation last year brought us leads for our Summer Enrichment Classes at Mary Bragg Elementary School,” stated Ofie Chanco, Community Relations Manager with California Educational Centers.  “We hope to multiply this many times over,” she said about the 2014 Wellness Fair marketing opportunities for local businesses.

 

The Los Cerritos Community News has signed up again as Media sponsor and will return 30% of all advertising revenues from a special June 7th Fun Run insert to the ABC Education Foundation.

 

This year's Fun Run will be held at the Los Cerritos Center shopping mall on June 21, 2014 and features a 5K run/walk starting at 7:45 a.m.; a 2K run/walk at 9 a.m. and a Kid’s Dash starting at 9:45 a.m.  Everyone who participates will receive medals.  Trophies for 1st, 2d, 3d place finishers by age/gender categories and Best Team Perpetual trophies will be awarded.
