Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 17

A school board meeting, a public safety meeting and a storm will make its way into town today.

1. The ABC School Board will be meeting at 7 p.m. tonight for the second time this month. Here's a on some of the items on the agenda.

4. If you are an art or history enthusiast and open to a little drive, The Getty Center in Los Angeles will be opening the exhibit "A Revolutionary Project: Cuba from Walker Evans to Now,'' uniting Evans' view from the 1930s with those of Cubans who took part in the 1959 revolution and contemporary foreign artists who explored the nation since the end of Soviet support in the 1990s. The exhibit will remain on display starting today until Oct. 2.

5. According to the National Weather Service, a late-season storm is expected to bring between a half-inch up to 1 inch of rain today. So don't forget to pack your umbrellas and wear your jackets and closed toe shoes!
