The former President of the Philippines, Fidel V. Ramos, will be making an appearance at the Cerritos Library tonight as part of the launching of the book "Trustee of the Nation" -- a biography of the former president written by W. Scott Thompson, Ph. D.

The event, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the library's Skyline Room, is being hosted by Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines, Los Angeles, and Cerritos councilmember Mark Pulido and his wife Gloria.

Attendees will enjoy a small reception and have the opportunity to meet and greet the former President. Organizers say the event was closed to the public almost immediately as eager community members RSVP'ed quickly to the limited seating gathering.
