Who Is the Cerritos-Artesia Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Barack Obama their person of the year. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Barack Obama as their Person of the Year.

“For finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union, Barack Obama is TIME's 2012 Person of the Year,” Time managing editor Richard Stengel explained in his note to readers.

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including Obama, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Cerritos-Artesia’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse?”

Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Randy Economy, Hello!! He's a corruption fighter. It's amazing how a local community newspaper like the Los Cerritos Community News can have the guts to go after stories that no one else would touch and do our community, state, and nation a great service. Randy Economy!!

I agree it should be Randy Economy. And if you are willing to name co- people of the year, you should recognize Gretchen Whitney for the last time.

Who better than Randy Economy? Without an active and engaging local media, our communities would be left in the dark about a plethora of issues. Randy is a beacon of hope and a true regional voice for wellness and democracy.
