COME JOIN TWO ARMIES, HUNDREDS OF SOLDIERS AND LEARN ABOUT THE WAR THAT DIVIDED OUR NATION!

(COSTA MESA) The Second Kentucky Cavalry, the American Civil War Society and the Union Army of The West, in conjunction with the City of Costa Mesa and the Costa Mesa Historical Society present the Fourth Annual Battle of Costa Mesa Civil War Reenactment, Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, 2014 at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa. The event is open to the general public for a full weekend of fun for the whole family, beginning Saturday,  9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. This year’s highlights include two daily battles at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., authentic living history campsites, a period field hospital and live period music. Each year's event has proven to be even bigger and better than the last, and this year will be no exception with over twelve reenacting companies from all over Southern California taking the field with upwards of 350 re-enactors, mounted cavalry, cannons, food and merchandise vendors and the biggest period Lady’s' Tea this side of the Mississippi. Just ask 2nd Kentucky's commander Lt. Col. Scott Peca, "what started out as a boutique event among close friends has blossomed into one of Southern California's premier Civil War events." For more information email bocminfo@2ndkycav.org or visit www.2ndkycav.org.
