NLMUSD Students to Showcase Artwork at PTA 'Reflections'

Students within the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District will showcase their work at PTA Reflections, a national arts recognition and achievement  program, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Benton Middle School.

The program, which is designed to provide students the opportunity to express themselves through art and receive positive recognition, will highlight the work of students within the District who participated in the Reflections categories: dance and choreography; film production; literature; music composition; photography; and visual arts.

Those who will be showcasing their work were chosen for their best use of this year’s theme, “Believe, Dream, Inspire.”

Students who were chosen among the best in the District will go on to the regional 33rd PTA Reflections Program. Those recognized as the best 30 within the region will attend the California State PTA Reflections Awards, where they have the opportunity to win prizes that include a medal, certificate, a $100 savings bond and an opportunity to represent the California State PTA at the national level of Reflections.

Visual and Performing Arts are staples within the District, which is home to award-winning art programs, a variety of music classes and bands, Career Pathways that focus on the arts and two magnet middle schools that have specialized arts programs, including Benton and Corvallis Middle School.
