Support Special Olympics by Tipping-A-Cop Wednesday in Cerritos

The 'Tip-A-Cop' fundraiser will be held at Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill in Cerritos on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Local authorities will be writing tickets of a different sort tonight in Cerritos as they prepare to serve up citizens' dinners.

The Tip-A-Cop fundraiser benefits the Special Olympics, and will be held at Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill in Cerritos Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cerritos' sheriff's deputies will be on hand as celebrity waiters to accept tips from restaurant patrons for the Special Olympics Southern California Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) chapter athletes, according to event organizers.

In 2011, Cerritos deputies at Red Robin at Los Cerritos Center earned more than $5,000 for the organization.
