Two Teens Arrested in Connection to Four Cerritos Burglaries

Police say the two teenage men were arrested at the scene of their latest target.

Two teenagers are suspected of committing break-ins at four local homes and were arrested red-handed at the scene of their most recent burglary site, Cerritos sheriff's officials said Monday.

The two men, identified as 18-year-old Pert Prieto and 19-year-old Zakk Otto, were arrested Friday in the 16-100 block of Crystal Creek Lane, near the area of Norwalk and Alondra boulevards, according to Detective Kent with the Cerritos station.

According to the detective, sheriff's deputies were sent to the location after getting a call of a suspicious person in the area, and found a home had just been broken into.

"Deputies subsequently detained two suspects who had accessed the victim’s garage, using the victim’s stolen remote control," Kent said.  "The suspects were also in possession of the victim’s car keys."

Upon further investigation and service of a search warrant, deputies found "several items of stolen property" from various residential burglaries inside one of the suspect's house, Kent said.  The two teens have now been linked to four Cerritos burglaries.

Kent said both men were arrested on burglary charges.
