Craft of the Week: Fall Flowers in Felt

Fall Felt Flower
Nothing says fall like beautiful chrysanthemum flowers. Also known as mums, these flowers typically bloom in autumn and come in a variety of vibrant and soft colors. This step-by-step tutorial will teach you to make your own mum using felt. These precious little pom-poms make a great accessory for babies and women alike.

What You Need
- Felt (green and color of your choice)
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Head band or elastic band
Step 1
Cut a strip of felt that is 11 inches long and roughly 3/4 of an inch wide. FYI: The sheets of felt you purchase from your local craft store is usually 11 inches in length.

Step 2
Cut along the width of the strip to create the fringe. Take care now to cut completely through the strip. Leave roughly a 1/4 of the width uncut.
Step 3
Apply a thin line of hot glue along the solid edge of the felt.
Step 4
Begin to roll up the strip as shown, taking care to apply glue as needed.
Step 5
Roll the entire length of your felt strip.
Step 6
Cut a leaf shape from green felt. Use this leaf and hot glue to adhere the headband or elastic band to the flat side of your flower.
Step 7
Allow to dry and enjoy!
