Learn to make a felt chrysanthemum hair accessory.

Crafts are a great way to exercise your artistic side but they are also very useful at bringing people together.

Each week, we will post a simple and easy project for your enjoyment. This is a great opportunity for you to reconnect with your friends and family while enjoying a weekly craft night.

Fall Felt Flower
Nothing says fall like beautiful chrysanthemum flowers. Also known as mums, these flowers typically bloom in autumn and come in a variety of vibrant and soft colors. This step-by-step tutorial will teach you to make your own mum using felt. These precious little pom-poms make a great accessory for babies and women alike.

Step 2
Cut along the width of the strip to create the fringe. Take care now to cut completely through the strip. Leave roughly a 1/4 of the width uncut.

Step 3
Apply a thin line of hot glue along the solid edge of the felt.

Step 4
Begin to roll up the strip as shown, taking care to apply glue as needed.

Step 5
Roll the entire length of your felt strip.

Step 6
Cut a leaf shape from green felt. Use this leaf and hot glue to adhere the headband or elastic band to the flat side of your flower.

Step 7
Allow to dry and enjoy!
