What is the Purpose of a Legal Guardianship

When an elderly person is deemed to be incapacitated by a court, no matter if it is fully or partially, then a legal guardianship may be obtained.  Generally, immediate family members, close relative or friend of the family is appointed because they are familiar with the person's situation, and have genuine care for their well-being of the incapacitated individual.
