Artesia Man, 78, Involved in Fatal Crash on 110 in South Pasadena
The Artesia local was struck by a vehicle whose driver was killed in the accident.
A young man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident, involving an Artesia man, on the southbound Pasadena (110) Freeway in South Pasadena.
The crash occurred on the 110 Freeway south of Orange Grove Avenue around 1 a.m. on March 6, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Agustin Velasquez, 18, of Los Angeles, died at the scene, said coroner's Chief Craig Harvey.

According to the preliminary investigation, Velasquez was driving a 1989 Honda "at an unsafe speed'' when his vehicle hit the center divider and caromed into the side of a 2011 Hyundai driven by a 78-year-old Artesia man, who suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.
The accident shut down southbound lanes until about 5 a.m., the CHP reported.
