Bellflower Sheriff Deputies Plan Vigil For Fallen Arizona Firefighter

Deputies will hold a 24-hour vigil at Bellflower Fire Station 23, where Kevin Woyjeck's father serves as captain.

Deputies from the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station will hold a vigil to honor fallen Firefighter Kevin Woyjeck at Fire Station 23 in Bellflower, officials announced Monday.

Woyjeck—who was one of 19 firefighters who lost their lives during an Arizona wildfire earlier this month—is the son of Los Angeles Fire Capt. Joe Woyjeck. Kevin was 21.

Deputies, who serve the Artesia area, are volunteering their time to pay tribute by standing guard in full uniform next to the fire station for a 24 hour period. The tribute will go on until 9 a.m. on July 16.
