Cerritos Crime: Commercial Burglaries, Vehicle Break-Ins & Thefts from April 15 to 21

Vehicle burglaries have increased while vehicle thefts remained the same during this period.

The following crimes were reported to the Cerritos Sheriff's Station during the period of April 15 to 21.

"OTHER STRUCTURE"/COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES

There were no “other structure”/commercial burglaries reported last week. Four were investigated during the previous reporting period. The 2013 weekly average in “other structure”/commercial burglaries is 2.6.

VEHICLE BURGLARIES

Vehicle burglaries were up from eight to nine last week. Five were in high-volume commercial parking lots. Four involved SUVs. Purses, wallets, laptop computers, mail, jewelry and military “dog tags” were missing. The new 2013 weekly average in vehicle burglaries is 8.3.

VEHICLE THEFTS

Vehicle theft incidents remained the same at five. All five occurred in high-volume commercial parking lots. Three of the stolen vehicles were Hondas and two were SUVs. The 2013 weekly average in vehicle thefts is now 3.3.
