Cerritos Crime Recap: July 22-July 28

Robberies

One robbery was investigated involving shoplifting at Cerritos Towne Center at 1:25 p.m. on July 25. The suspect has been arrested.

Residential Burglaries

Three residential burglaries were reported, up from two reported last week. The current weekly residential average is 4.7.

Commercial/Other Structural Burglaries

No other structure or commercial burglaries were reported, down from two reported last week. The current weekly average is 2.7.

Vehicle Burglaries

Five vehicle burglaries were reported, up from one reported last week. The current weekly average is 6.9

Vehicle Thefts

Six vehicle thefts were reported, up from five reported last week. The current weekly average is 3.9.

National Night Out

Members of the Sheriff’s Department will present information on crime prevention, safety, disaster preparedness and homeland security from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thur., Aug. 8 at Heritage Park. Fingerprinting services as part of “Operation Kid Print” will be available for parents wishing to keep record of their children’s fingerprints.
