Cerritos Deputies Searching for Residential Burglary Suspects

The break-in occurred on Friday night near Ashworth Street and Marquardt Avenue, according to the Cerritos Sheriff's Station.

Burglars triggered a loud house alarm in Cerritos Friday night, prompting a large perimeter search by Cerritos Sheriff's deputies.

The alarm went off about 8 p.m. Jan. 4 at a home on Ashworth Street and Marquardt Avenue, said Lt. Richard Harpham of the Cerritos Sheriff's Station.

Deputies immediately responded to the location and discovered that "forced entry" was made through the rear of the home, he said. Deputies entered the residence but no one was inside, however, they did confirm that a break-in had occurred.

A sheriff's helicopter was circling the area for several minutes shortly after the crime was reported.

"Cerritos sheriff's deputies are continuing to investigate the burglary," said Harpham, adding that it had not yet been determined what was stolen.

Anyone with information on the break-in was asked to call the Cerritos Sheriff's Station at (562) 860-0044.

When it comes to the FREE newspaper (or anything else that's free) -- the old saying applies: YouRead More get what you pay for.

To call this "rag" a newspaper is a joke. They only put partial truths, always sided to aRead More covert friend of the writer and never have done the background investigation to be able to establish validity!
