Cerritos Deputies Searching for Residential Burglary Suspects

The break-in occurred on Friday night near Ashworth Street and Marquardt Avenue, according to the Cerritos Sheriff's Station.

Burglars triggered a loud house alarm in Cerritos Friday night, prompting a large perimeter search by Cerritos Sheriff's deputies.

The alarm went off about 8 p.m. Jan. 4 at a home on Ashworth Street and Marquardt Avenue, said Lt. Richard Harpham of the Cerritos Sheriff's Station.

Deputies immediately responded to the location and discovered that "forced entry" was made through the rear of the home, he said. Deputies entered the residence but no one was inside, however, they did confirm that a break-in had occurred.
