UPDATED: Cerritos Deputies Investigate Attempted Burglary on Alexander Ave.

Authorities were summoned to a home on Alexander Avenue on Tuesday afternoon in response to a burglary attempt.

Updated at 3 p.m.: Deputies no longer searching the area.

Cerritos Sheriff's deputies this afternoon were investigating another residential burglary near South Street and Carmenita Boulevard -- one of at least two burglary scenes in the city.

Deputies responded to a call of a burglary attempt at a home on Alexander Avenue about 1:20 p.m., according to Lt. George Berumen of the Cerritos Sheriff's Station.

A sheriff's helicopter was spotted circling the area just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, prompting several inquiries about the incident to Patch.

Berumen said there was no suspect description available as of about 3 p.m. and deputies were no longer searching the area.
