Cerritos Sheriff's Station Seeks Witnesses to Two-Car Crash on Sept. 6

Did you happen to see the accident at Bloomfield Avenue and Lucas Street on Tuesday afternoon? If so, the Sheriff's Department wants to hear from you.

Traffic investigators today asked for assistance from any witnesses who may have seen a collision in a Cerritos intersection near the Artesia (91) Freeway on Tuesday.

The accident at Bloomfield Avenue and Lucas Street occurred about 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 6, Det. Tim Britt of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told Patch.

"Its one of these things where both parties claimed they had a green light, however there were no immediate witnesses (who stayed) at the scene to verify what happened," Britt said.

The detective said that the driver of a blue 2010 Toyota Camry who was traveling westbound on Lucas Street claims she stopped at a red light at Bloomfield Avenue, then proceeded into the intersection when the light turned green. However, that's when the driver of a 2006 gray Scion headed north on Bloomfield crashed into the Camry. Conversly, the driver of the Scion told detectives that she actually had the green light.

The parties involved suffered minor injuries, said Britt.
