Collision Near Chase Bank in Cerritos Sends Both Vehicles Onto Sidewalk

The impact of a two-car collision sends both vehicles onto the sidewalk near Chase Bank in Cerritos. No injuries reported.

An elderly woman in Ford Mustang rear-ended a large-sized SUV today, sending both vehicles toward the sidewalk near the Bank in Cerritos.

The accident outside of 11900 South Street was reported about 3:50 p.m., said Sgt. J. Chavez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Cerritos Station. 

Chavez said the woman driving the silver Mustang had crashed into the back of the black Ford Expedition, sending the SUV onto the sidewalk near the eastside exit of Lincoln Station Shopping Center.

Upon impact, the Mustang continued forward, jumped the curb and finally came to rest just a few feet away from bank building, the sergeant added. The front fender of the car was torn off in the crash.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and examined both parties. No one was injured in the accident, Chavez said.
