Coroner ID's Norwalk Man Killed in 91 Freeway Crash in Cerritos

The 35-year-old was killed in an early Thursday morning crash on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway at Norwalk Boulevard.

The coroner's office today identified the driver who was killed when he rear-ended a big rig on the on the Artesia (91) Freeway early Thursday.

Gerardo Angel, 35, of Norwalk died in the accident, which was reported at 1:45 a.m. Oct. 25 on the 91 Freeway at Norwalk Boulevard, according to a coroner's investigator.

A CHP sergeant said that the victim's compact car had slammed into the back end of a big rig that was re-entering traffic after pulling over so the driver could secure the load on his flatbed trailer. CHP immediately issued a SigAlert for the No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes to accomodate the accident investigation.  

Angel was pronounced dead at the scene.
