Two men stole jewelry from an 81-year-old woman during a noninjury home invasion robbery in Lakewood early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The robbers entered the house on 215th Street near Nectar Avenue without weapons around 12:15 a.m., said Lt. Martin Rodriguez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Lakewood Station.
"No weapons were reported to be used during the robbery," Captain Merrill Ladenheim of the sheriff's department said. "Fortunately, the victim was not injured."
The woman was the only person in the residence, Rodriguez said. The pair made off with an undetermined amount of jewelry.
The suspects were described as black men with thin builds, between 18 and 25 and wearing dark clothing. One was between 5'5" and 5' 8", and the other was between 5'8" and 6' tall.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call sheriff's detectives at (562) 623-3500 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
