Long Beach Police Arrest Assault Suspect, Seek Other Possible Victims

Police suspect a Long Beach man assaulted a woman at her Long Beach home. They are asking anyone else who believes they were victimized to step forward.

Long Beach Police Officers say they have arrested a man they suspect assaulted one woman but who may have victimized others.

52-year-old Steven DeSisto of Long Beach was booked and could face three felony charges and one misdemeanor, including two counts of felony sexual assault, one felony count of drug possession, and one misdemeanor count of photographing an unconscious person, Long Beach Police officials said.

The assault he’s suspected in happened in August. Police said DeSisto met a woman in a local bar where she became intoxicated.

DeSisto took the woman to her home in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Orange Avenue, where he sexually assaulted her, Long Beach Police said. After the alleged attack, the woman fled the home and called police, officials said.

Members of the Sex Crimes Detail and Violent Sexual Predator Unit arrested DeSisto about 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 15 in the 500 block of East First Street.

DeSisto is being held in the Long Beach City Jail on $2,000,000 bail pending his arraignment, which is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 17, officials wrote.
