Man Caught Allegedly Gouging Lawn in Cerritos

Timothy Jeffers, 25, of Cerritos, was arrested Saturday night.

A 25-year-old man suspected of using his Toyota pickup to gouge deep ruts in the lawn of Brookhaven Park was taken into custody and could face a year in jail, authorities said.

Timothy Jeffers, of Cerritos, was arrested about 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the park, 13100 Brookhaven St., according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Deedrick.

According to the lieutenant, the suspect was doing figure eights on the lawn and was caught in the act by a patrol deputy.

"It was a mindless, foolish act," the lieutenant told Patch.

The damage was estimated at $6,000 and the suspect will most likely be charged if he is convicted, Deedrick told Patch.

LOL another criminal in cerritos. wow, this is terrible. You fools that deny Cerritos is losing its reputation because of these criminals are ignorant. We sersiouly need to build bars around cerritos so criminals cant get in.

Stupid kid stunts. Nothing terribly new about this. Re-seed and move on. Although, I would make him do the repair work instead of doing time.

Just curious, does 25 actually still count as a kid? :)
PB December 11, 2012 at 06:53 pm
How will he charged if he is convicted? That does not make any sense.
MarieSam Sanchez (Editor) December 11, 2012 at 06:56 pm
PB meaning charged for the costs to fix the damages.
Luvurlibrary December 13, 2012 at 03:28 pm
He's an adult chronologically and should do time, then pay to have a professional fix the damage. Maybe he'll finally grow up mentally.

Building bars will only give the impression to local surrounding cities that Cerritos is much like a city that once was is no longer, don't let an idiot like this dictate an impression that Cerritos has fallen to a bad community local law enforcement and city council has always kept the city a class act community and place to enjoyably live

I've noticed that a lot of people take jobs in food service while they pursue long-term jobs thatRead More match their field of study. If they do, they need to be certified in food safety. They can learn about this at http://www.SafeFoodAcademy.com.
