VIDEO: Man Killed in Crash on 91 Freeway in Artesia

A solo-vehicle crash on the Artesia (91) Freeway leaves one man dead.

A man in his 30s was killed in a solo-vehicle crash on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway in Artesia just after midnight today.

The accident on the 91 Freeway just west of Pioneer Boulevard was reported about 12:10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of a gray Honda Civic went about 250 to 300 feet up an embankment on the right shoulder and slammed into a sound barrier wall, CHP Officer Anthony Martin said.

The victim, whose name was being withheld pending notification of family members, was pronounced dead at the scene, Martin said.                

Witness told officers that he was driving in the fast lane and veered across all eastbound lanes before he crashed. The No. 5 lane was closed for about an hour during the investigation.
