UPDATED: Man Killed After Slamming Into Big Rig on 91 Freeway in Cerritos
The accident took place early Thursday resulting in a SigAlert of several eastbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A man was killed when his car rear-ended a big rig on the Artesia (91) Freeway in early Thursday, prompting the closure of three eastbound lanes.

The collision was reported on the eastbound 91 Freeway at Norwalk Boulevard at 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 25 , according to California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball. Initial reports indicated that multiple vehicles were involved, he added.
A CHP sergeant at the scene told a member of the media that the victim's compact car rear-ended a big rig that was re-entering traffic after pulling over so the driver could secure the load on his flatbed trailer.

The victim, described as a 30-something Hispanic man, died at the scene, Kimball said. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A SigAlert for the No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes was issued at 2:40 a.m. to accomodate the accident investigation.
