Motorist Crashes into Walnut Lollicup

No one was hurt in the crash.

A motorist slammed his car into a Lollicup eatery in Walnut today, but nobody was hurt, a county fire dispatcher said. Lollicup is located two door down from Subway in the plaza across the street from Mt. San Antonio College.

"It (the vehicle) broke a window, but didn't do any damage to the structure," he said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 1219 N. Grand Ave. at 10:08 a.m., he said.

It was not immediately known if the motorist was cited or arrested.

I'm in agreement. My anxiety is heightened when driving in the area, and I LIVE HERE! It is becoming way too scary to be a motorist much less a pedestrian in this area.

Makes me wonder how some of these people are able to pass the written and driving test. I drive a luxury vehicle and I'm nervous about driving in the area. I try to avoid certain locations because of what I have witnessed with my own two-eyes with people not using their signals, turning when it's not their turn, no etiquette when you let them in front of you ,and just overall oblivious and/or rude. It's scary...

They obviously give California Drivers Licences away in specially marked packages of tofu. Remember when you had to be able to parallel park to pass your driving exam ? Today you don't even have to be able to see past the hood of your car OR over the steering wheel......

People seem to be driving badly EVERYWHERE these days, and I attribute that mostly to Driver's Ed no longer being taught in school. That, and the overall lack of RESPECT among people in general. Everybody's in a hurry, and it's all about me, me, ME!

Just for all of your information, the driver was a middle-aged man and this Walnut Lollicup location is not located near an elementary school. So why would moron parents drop their kids off here? It's located across from Mt. Sac. I'm not giving the driver an excuse or anything. It was his fault and his 'reasoning' seemed flawed. He claimed his foot slipped off the brake, but if it went over the curb and into the store he had his foot on the gas, not the brake. Just saying.
