Hit-and-Run Accident on 605 Freeway Leaves Motorist With Minor Injuries

The accident that left a motorist with minor injuries took place about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.

A motorist suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run accident on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Cerritos Saturday.

The crash on the northbound 605 Freeway was reported about 4:15 p.m., when a red compact car was spotted on the right shoulder near the Del Amo Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim's car was struck by another vehicle, whose driver then fled from the scene of the crash. The victim suffered minor injuries, the CHP reported.

The off-ramp was shut down for about 30 minutes while the wreck was cleared. 

Information on the hit-and-run driver and vehicle was not immediately available.
