UPDATED: Shooting at Rodeway Inn in Artesia Leaves Man Wounded

The violence broke out about 12:15 p.m Tuesday at the motel along Artesia Boulevard.

Editor's Note: Updated at 9 p.m. with condition of victim and details of shooting.

A man was shot in the torso at the Rodeway Inn in Artesia Tuesday but he is expected to survive, authorities said.

The violence took place at the motel located at 11854 Artesia Blvd. about 12:15 p.m. Oct. 30, according the Lakewood Sheriff's Station.

The victim underwent surgery after being shot in the torso, and he is expected to survive, Lt. Joe Nicassio said.

The circumstances of the shooting remained under investigation, however an authority at the scene told Patch that the assailant -- a man -- shot the victim in one of the motel rooms and fled. The victim then walked across the street to Del Taco fast food restaurant and announced that he had been shot.

Deputies from both the Cerritos and Lakewood stations, who were summoned to both the motel and Del Taco, immediately launched a search for the shooter.

Nicassio said no arrests had been made as of late Tuesday.

To call this "rag" a newspaper is a joke. They only put partial truths, always sided to aRead More covert friend of the writer and never have done the background investigation to be able to establish validity!
