Cerritos Woman Killed in Deadly Ice Cream Parlor Accident

Meanwhile, police investigate if driver's age played a role.

The possibility that an elderly driver hit the wrong foot pedal, accidentally killing a woman standing outside a popular ice cream parlor in Buena Park, continued today, as the victim's name was released.

Marisa Malin, 73, of Cerritos, was pronounced dead at a hospital 33 minutes after she was among seven pedestrians smashed by an SUV driven by a man in his 70s.

A woman and a teenage girl were also hospitalized with critical injuries, said Cpl. Andy Luong of the Buena Park Police Department.
