A collision on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway near the Shoemaker Avenue off-ramp prompted a nearly hour-long SigAlert early Tuesday.
The California Highway Patrol received a call that a Chevy Suburban had rear-ended a semi in the No. 3 eastbound lane at 1:10 a.m. July 10, said CHP Officer Anthony Martin.
Responding CHP officers quickly initiated a SigAlert, blocking the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes and diverting eastbound traffic into the HOV lane to accomodate the crash investigation, Martin said. The closures were lifted just before 2 a.m.
According to reports at the scene, a woman suspected of driving under the influence was involved in the accident. Martin could not confirm the report, but did say that officers arrested an individual at the site of the crash.
