Overnight Collision on 91 Freeway in Cerritos Halts Traffic for Nearly An Hour

The accident on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway near the Shoemaker Avenue off-ramp took place about 1:10 a.m. Tuesday.

A collision on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway near the Shoemaker Avenue off-ramp prompted a nearly hour-long SigAlert early Tuesday.

The California Highway Patrol received a call that a Chevy Suburban had rear-ended a semi in the No. 3 eastbound lane at 1:10 a.m. July 10, said CHP Officer Anthony Martin.

Responding CHP officers quickly initiated a SigAlert, blocking the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes and diverting eastbound traffic into the HOV lane to accomodate the crash investigation, Martin said. The closures were lifted just before 2 a.m.
