A woman was found dead in a casino parking lot in Hawaiian Gardens Sunday and sheriff's homicide investigators were called to the scene, authorities said.

Sheriff's officials reported the discovery about 9:30 a.m. in the 11800 block of Carson Street, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials.

But investigators Sunday evening were trying to piece together the events leading to the discovery of the remains.

According to Juan Garza, publicist for the city of Hawaiian Gardens, the woman was a resident of West Covina and had been reported missing before her Toyota SUV was found with her remains inside.

"She had been reported missing by her family Friday morning, and her family, who had been actively looking for her since, found her vehicle in the Gardens Casino parking lot and reported it to the Sheriff's Dept this morning," Garza told Patch.

Anyone with information was asked to contact LASD homicide investigators at 323-890-5500.

The Hawaiian Gardens Casino is notorious for covering up crimes from the public and the news media. Many speculate that they work closely with some city officials (Whose names I can not disclose) and with the sheriff's department to ensure that the city has a cleaner image. I recall the shooting of a man who was in car chase with the 'suspects' on Carson Street. When I hear HG Casino, I think organized crime.
