Man Caught Using Cellphone to Take Photos Under Woman's Dress at Cypress College

The alleged incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the campus in nearby Cypress.

A 31-year-old man is facing charges today for allegedly using a cellphone to take photos underneath a woman's dress at the Cypress College bookstore.

Stephen Harris was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon at about 2:45 p.m., according to the Cypress Police Department.

Cypress College police officers were initially dispatched to the bookstore located at 9200 Valley View Blvd. in response to a disturbance investigation. Upon arrival, officers contacted a man who was being detained by campus security and a female subject -- the apparent victim.

According to the primary investigation, the victim felt something unusual on her leg, and when she looked down, she saw the suspect kneeling down next to her with his cellphone held underneath her dress. He was attempting to record images on his cellphone of her undergarments underneath her dress, according to police.

Harris, who was arrested for violation of P.C. 647 (J)(2) – illegal videotaping, was booked at the Cypress Police Department and later transported to the Orange County Jail. He was later released on a written promise to appear at the Orange County Superior Court, West Justice Center, on Oct. 31.

Harris is not a registered student at the college, and at this time, it is unknown why he was on campus, police said.
