Suspected DUI Driver Arrested for Fatal Crash in Bellflower
The accident occurred about 7:15 p.m. Friday on Alondra Boulevard near McNab Avenue, leaving a 49-year-old woman dead.
A 39-year-old man in Bellflower was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunken driving when , a Los Angeles County sheriff's lieutenant said today.
John Rice, the suspected drunken driver, suffered moderate injuries during the crash, Lt. Minh Dinh of the sheriff's Lakewood station said.
Rice was speeding eastbound on Alondra Boulevard in a newer model maroon
Corvette about 7:15 p.m. Friday near McNab Avenue and crashed into a Nissan
Pathfinder that was pulling into the parking lot of the Value Inn, 10410
Alondra Blvd., Dinh said.

The 49-year-old woman driving the Pathfinder was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene. Her daughter, a 20-year-old woman sitting in the backseat, suffered moderate injuries. Her 18-month-old granddaughter escaped injury.
Dinh said there was a female passenger in the Corvette. Her condition was not immediately known.
